It was Stephen’s first major public performance and he chose to play an original composition for his graduation. He shared it with Pam just prior to the performance and said he didn’t know what to call it. She told him if it expressed what you are feeling then maybe it should just be “Stephen’s Own”. Hence the title and theme throughout Steveplayson.com. “Morning Strut” is a public performance of his original composition from his frequent residency at Chickie Wa Wa in NOLA. “Rampart Rumba” is from his WWOZ March 2016 Spring Pledge Drive performance and we thank Scott Borne and the folks at WWOZ for their permission to include the full interview as well.
